Your Dream… it’s waiting for you.
How often do you put your creative dream or your dream business aside, waiting until you have the time, the money or the inspiration to take some action on it? Do you feel like you have so many other “responsibilities” that your gifts and talents just take a back seat?
I know how you feel. I’ve been there too. It doesn’t feel good.
When I’m not expressing myself creatively, all kinds of feelings come up for me. I feel frustrated, anxious, empty — even depressed. It’s not a place I want to hang out in very long. And you probably feel the same way.
So if you’re feeling stuck around the idea of putting time, energy, or even money into your Dream, I found an amazing way of getting back into the Creative Flow.
Your creative dream, your message, your ideas, your business are an important part of your life, and the world needs what you have to give.
When we put our time, our money, and our talents into our dream, we are not being irresponsible. We are being responsible, actually. Because as we create something and put it out in the world, we are truly giving birth to something that is uniquely part of who we are.
Try thinking about your gifts and talents this way. They are like your child, and they need to be nurtured and loved. If my child was hungry, I would find a way to feed them. There would be no excuses. It would feel good to nurture them. It would feel good to watch them thrive. I wouldn’t feel guilty about taking care of them. I would feel that it was my responsibility to love them and to nurture them.
I know, that may feel radical, because we often get the exact opposite opinion from our friends, family and society… “Be practical – Be responsible – Stop wasting your time. You have to be lucky. Be practical!”
But think about the creative artists, leaders and entrepreneurial people you admire, who thought the most responsible and practical way to live was to respond to their creative urges and use their gifts and talents.
They responded to Life and kept going and gave birth to their creativity. The funny thing is that when we respond to Life, it responds back to us and things start to fall into place.
In the last couple of months, I’ve been working on a new project. I’m excited about finally creating it, and I’ll be sharing it with you soon. It’s pretty cool!
However, it’s been a lot of work, and I’ve found myself overwhelmed by the amount of time it is taking, and I started procrastinating on finishing some of it. I even started to go into second-guessing myself about how good it is. Then I started to put up roadblocks to finding the time to work on it.
You know how everything else in your life can seem more important than finding time for your creative ideas. I’m talking about watching a TV show, shopping online, getting on Facebook, or talking endlessly on the phone to friends…it can suck out our energy.
I knew that I needed to change the way I was feeling and thinking about this project.
Here’s the empowering thing I discovered: When I keep coming back to what I’m creating and put my attention on it, it starts to take shape, because it wants to be birthed. We all have this amazing energy in us that wants to take shape in this world. It wants to use our gifts and our talents to make something, to create. Our job is to show up and give birth to it.
What I know is you are responding to Life by using your gifts and talents. You are responding to Life, to what Life has given you. You are responding to the gifts and talents that are yours, in fact it is your responsibility not to waste them.
I want to support you in nurturing and sharing your gifts. The world needs what you have.
Have an Amazing Day,
Faith
